What is winning your competition actually worth?

The ADS weight system gives every achievement a standardised score — based on how far it reached, how hard it was to get in, and what you achieved. No more comparing apples to oranges. Pick your event and find out.

Event Landscape

Where do real competitions land?

All scores assume a Winner (1st place) outcome — the ceiling of each event. Even at a lower placement, higher-rigor events often outscore a win at an open-registration festival.

Bar colour = Rigor: Open ×0.4 Screened ×0.6 Selective ×0.8 Federated ×1.0

The prestige trap

Winning Saarang (National · Open · 8.0) scores identically to winning a District Athletics Meet (District · Selective · 8.0). The standard separates prestige from actual selection rigor.

Participation still counts

Participating in the SGFI National School Games (National · Federated · 4.0) scores the same as winning an Inter-school District meet (District · Open · 4.0). The qualifying trail is part of the achievement.

Rigor vs. Score — the full picture

Read up for higher composite weight. Read right for harder entry. The same score can be reached through different reach–rigor combinations — that is the design intent of the standard.

Reach rule

Ask "who was allowed to enter?" — not "who showed up?"
A fest where international students happen to attend is not International-reach unless it actively draws entries from outside India.

Rigor rule

Ask "what had to happen before the event?" — not "how is it structured inside?"
Prelims on Day 1 of the same festival are format, not a qualifier. Selective means winning a separate prior event earned you your place here.
